About the event
Meet The Artist Larry Green
Larry Green is a retired professional technical illustrator and graphic artist from General Motors Corp. He has a BFA from Wayne State University and two year studies at the College of Creative Studies in Graphic Communications and illustration. Larry is also a videographer, educator, Martial Arts instructor and coach, and cofounder of the 45 year old grassroots organization, the Alkebu-lan Village in Detroit.
Larry's life as an artist extends over six decades. He considers himself a photorealistic and contemporary Artist. Today as a fine artist, his greatest understanding of illustration, came from the renowned artist and late Carl Owens. He works in a variety of mediums, such as oils, acrylics, pastels, charcoals, graphite pencils and digital. His Art is known for bold colors, lovely and emotionally drawn figures, layered backgrounds, and his trademark eyes. He creates artworks that draws from his own experiences, as well as historical and cultural aspects of being black in America.

Opening Exhibit: June 2nd 400pm to 8:00pm
Exhibit: Fridays and Saturdays from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Sundays from 2:00pm to 6:00pm
Closing Exhibit: Sunday, June 18th 2:00pm to 6:00pm; Artist Talk is from 3:00pm to 4:00pm
